Hotel Iris

Hotel Iris is situated at 707, 17 C in the Koramangala neighborhood of Bangalore. Koramangala is always buzzing with people, especially in the evenings when everyone is out at the cafes and shops. Our building at 707 is where we manage everything from the front desk to the rooms upstairs. It’s a lot of work keeping a hotel running. We’re constantly checking people in, helping with luggage, or making sure the housekeeping staff has everything they need for the next shift. Bangalore weather is usually nice, so we don't have to worry about the heat as much as some other places, but the rain can sometimes cause a bit of a mess in the lobby. We’ve been here for a while and have seen the neighborhood grow around us. The rooms are simple and we try to keep things clean and functional. We don't have a giant staff, just a handful of us who take turns staying overnight to make sure someone is always at the desk if a guest arrives late. It’s a pretty straightforward business. We spend a lot of time on the phone or computer handling bookings. Sometimes it gets a bit stressful when we are full, but mostly it’s just a steady flow of travelers coming through 17 C to stay for a night or two. We just try to make sure their stay goes smoothly without any major issues.
