Hotel Grand Ashok Banglore

Hotel Grand Ashok Banglore is a bit of a funny name because our address is actually in Chennai. We are located at No 14/9 on 2nd Cross Street in New Colony, which is in the Chromepet area. I know the name might confuse some people, but this is where we are. The building is on a relatively quiet street compared to the main highways in Tamil Nadu. We have a few floors of rooms and a small reception area where someone is usually sitting and reading the paper or checking the ledger. Living in Chromepet means you get used to the Chennai heat, so our air conditioning units are always working hard. We spend a lot of time making sure the laundry is done and the rooms are ready for whoever might show up next. Most of our guests are people visiting family or students who need a place to stay for a couple of days. We don't have a big restaurant, just some basic stuff. The staff is local and we mostly speak a mix of Tamil and English with the guests. It’s a modest place, really. Nothing like those five-star hotels you see downtown. We just provide a bed and a roof. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint soon, but for now, they are fine. It is just a regular hotel run by regular people who live in the neighborhood.
