Hotel Aj International is down in Mallippattinam, which is in the Tanjore district of Tamilnadu. The office or the building is on Umar Pulavar Street. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the big cities like Bangalore, even though that’s in our name. People who stay here are usually just passing through or have some work in the district. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles. The rooms are basic. We spend most of the morning cleaning and making sure the water is running fine. Tanjore can get really warm, so we try to keep things as cool as possible inside. The street outside is usually busy with local traffic and people going about their business. It’s a simple setup. We don't have any big corporate rules or anything. It's just a couple of us working here. We handle the check-ins, take the bags, and answer the phone when it rings. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to deal with that. It’s just the reality of running a small place in a town like this. We don't have a big marketing plan. People just find us or they don't. We just keep the place open and try to be helpful if someone asks for directions or a good place to eat nearby. It’s mostly just about keeping the doors open and the place tidy so people can rest.
