Hot In Le-Meridian, Bangalore

My work involves being at Le-Meridian in Bangalore, but my home is actually Vettiyadan House in West Chalakudy. That’s back in the Thrissur district of Kerala. It’s a long way to go back and forth, so I spend a lot of time away from the family. Chalakudy is a beautiful place with a lot of green, very different from the busy streets around the hotel in Bangalore. When I’m at the hotel, it’s all about the guests and making sure everything looks right in the dining area or the lobby. It’s a fast-paced environment where you’re always on your feet. Then I think about the quiet evenings back at the house in Thrissur. The contrast is pretty sharp. One minute I’m dealing with high-end clients and expensive meals, and the next I’m thinking about the local market back home. The job requires a lot of patience, especially when the hotel gets crowded during the wedding season or big conferences. I handle a lot of the small details that people don't usually notice until something goes wrong. It’s just the life of someone working in the hospitality sector while keeping a foot in their hometown. The mail still goes to the Kerala address, and that’s where my heart is, even if my daily routine is tied to the buzz of a big city hotel. It’s a lot of hard work and very little rest.
