We started this nursing thing at Arekere Gate because people really needed help at home. It’s hard when someone is sick and you can’t be there all the time or you don't know the medical stuff. So we go to houses near HoneyWell and help out. My cousin used to do this first and then I joined in. We just handle the day-to-day things like injections or dressing wounds. It’s not fancy. We just show up on time and do the work. Bangalore traffic makes it tough sometimes but we manage to reach. Most of the time it’s just elderly people who need a bit of company and medical care. We've been at this address for a while now. Some days are long, especially if a patient is quite unwell. We talk to the families and keep them updated on what's happening. It’s practical work, really. Sometimes we forget to carry extra gauze or something and have to run back, but that’s just how it goes. People in the neighborhood know us now. We don't have a big office, just this spot near the gate. If you live around here, you’ve probably seen us walking around with our bags. We try to be helpful without making a big fuss about it. It’s just about getting the job done so the patient feels okay. Every day is different, sometimes we're just sitting and chatting with someone who is lonely, other times it's much busier with medications.
