Hindustan Wiremesh Industries

Our place is called Hindustan Wiremesh Industries and you can find us at 5 Avenue Road. We are specifically tucked into MRR Lane, right across from the Chandra Vihar Hotel. Avenue Road is always packed with people and carts, so it’s a very busy part of the city. We deal with all kinds of wire mesh and fencing materials. The shop is full of rolls of metal that we cut to size for whoever needs it. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand. You have to watch your step so you don’t trip over a bundle of wire. We’ve been here for many years, so the walls look a bit old and the floor is worn down. We don't mind it though. It’s a working shop, not a showroom. Customers usually come in with measurements and we get to work cutting whatever they need. Sometimes we have to move heavy rolls around, which is a good workout. The noise from the street is constant, but it’s just part of the atmosphere here. We don't have a big marketing plan. Most people find us because their father or grandfather used to buy from us. We just keep doing what we know. It’s a lot of manual work, but it feels good to see a finished roll go out.
