Hindalco

This Hindalco spot is located in Benadi, which is part of the Chikodi taluka in Belgaum district. It’s a rural area, so you see more tractors than cars on the road most days. Our setup here is pretty straightforward. We have a small office on the site where we handle the daily logs and check on the work happening in the fields or the plant area. It’s not a polished environment. The floors are often a bit muddy, and there are tools lying around the entrance. We deal with a lot of people from the surrounding villages who come here for work. The weather in Belgaum can be quite nice, but the rainy season makes everything a bit difficult to manage. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or slogans on the walls. Mostly, we just have calendars and shift schedules. It’s a practical place for practical people. Most of us live nearby, so we know the local gossip and the best places to get a quick meal. We just focus on getting the work done without much fuss. If a machine breaks, we fix it. If a shipment is late, we call around until we find it. It’s a simple life, working for a big company but in a very small, local way. The office is just a place to sit for a bit between checking on things outside.
