Hewlett Packard

Our office is located over in the Surya Building, which is right in the middle of Electronic City Phase-1. If you know this part of town, you already know how difficult the daily commute can be with all the company buses and people rushing into the various tech parks. It is a large building, and we have been working from this floor for quite a while now. Inside, it is pretty much what you would expect from a place like this. There are rows of desks, flickering computer monitors, and the constant sound of people talking on their headsets or typing away on keyboards. We deal with a lot of hardware and software issues here at Hewlett Packard. It is technical work that requires everyone to stay focused for long hours. Sometimes we have to stay late when a project is near its deadline or when some equipment isn't behaving like it should. The cafeteria downstairs is where most of us end up for a quick lunch, usually talking about anything except our work for a few minutes. It is a very busy environment to be in every day. We often have boxes of computer parts and spare cables sitting in the corners. It is not always perfectly neat, especially when we are in the middle of testing out new systems. The view from our window is mostly just other tall office buildings and the main road. It is just a practical space for getting things done.
