Health Care

Our Health Care spot is located right on 14th Cross in Madivala, near the S.L.V. Ladies Hostel. If you know the 19th Main area, you probably walk past us all the time. Maruthinagar is a crowded place, so we are used to the noise and the people walking by all day. We aren't a big hospital or anything like that. It is just a small place where we help out with basic health needs. We have got a couple of rooms and some basic equipment for checking people over. The staff here are locals who know the neighborhood well. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped in the waiting area, especially in the evenings when everyone is off work. We do not have fancy uniforms or a big reception desk. Usually, you just walk in and talk to whoever is free. We try to keep the place as clean as we can, though the dust from the road is a constant battle. We have been here long enough that we recognize most of the faces from the hostel and the nearby apartments. It is a simple setup for people who need a bit of help without going all the way to a major clinic. We keep our own records on paper and in the computer, and we just try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door. It is just us doing what we can for the folks in Madivala. We are just part of the local street life.
