Working on N R Road means you get used to the noise and the crowds pretty quickly. Our address is a bit of a talking point because it has the new number 123 and the old number 102. It usually takes a bit of explaining for the delivery drivers to find the right entrance. The building itself is quite old and has that specific smell of aged paper and dust. We have been here for a long time, and the floorboards have a bit of a creak in certain spots. Inside, it’s mostly just desks covered in ledgers and various documents. We don’t have much in the way of modern decor. The light comes in through the tall windows, but it’s often filtered by the grime from the street outside. People come in and out all day, mostly locals who have been doing business in this area for decades. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background, mostly just for some white noise. There is a small tea stall just a few doors down where we get our morning chai. The pace here is steady, not exactly fast but never truly slow either. We just keep track of the accounts and the various bits of business that come our way. It is a simple life on a very busy road. We aren't trying to impress anyone, we just stay on top of the work and keep things moving.
