Gupta Mango Enterprises

Gupta Mango Enterprises is based out in Doddaballapur on Gota Road. We are at number 20. If you come by during the right season, the whole place smells like ripe mangoes. It is a very specific smell that sticks to your clothes. Most of the time, the space is filled with wooden crates and plastic bins. We spend a lot of our hours sorting through the fruit, checking which ones are ready and which ones need more time. It is a lot of physical work, lifting heavy boxes and moving them around the warehouse floor. The Gota Road area is a bit dusty, and our building at number 20 is a simple structure with a high ceiling. We have some old desks in the front where we keep track of the shipments, but most of the action happens in the back. Chandlodia is a busy spot for this kind of trade. We don't have any fancy displays. It is just fruit and crates and people working. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, especially when it is too hot or if it rains unexpectedly. We just try to keep the mangoes in good shape until they are ready to go out. It is a straightforward business, really. We just deal with what the trees give us and try to keep things moving along the road. It keeps us busy for most of the year, one way or another, with the boxes.
