The APMC Yard in Yeshwantpur is a place that never really sleeps, and that is where you will find us at NG6/16. Being part of the Gujarat Farmer Development Society means our days are tied to the seasons and the crops coming in. Everything here is about the movement of goods and the farmers who bring their hard work to the yard. It’s a busy, gritty environment with trucks moving in and out at all hours. Our space is functional, meant for handling the logistics of agriculture rather than looking pretty. We spend a lot of time talking to people from different regions and keeping track of what’s happening in the fields. The air always smells a bit like earth and fresh produce. It’s a loud place, with people shouting out prices and workers loading crates onto lorries. We sit in our office at NG6/16 and manage the day-to-day tasks that keep things moving. There is a lot of paperwork involved in helping the farmers, and we try to keep it all organized despite the chaos of the market outside. We don’t have fancy slogans. We just focus on the task at hand and try to be a reliable point in the yard for anyone who stops by. It’s a lifestyle more than just a job, being down here in Yeshwantpur every single day. We watch the sun come up over the crates and get ready for the next truck to arrive.
