Our office is tucked away on the fifth floor of Shubharam Complex on Mahatma Gandhi Road. Being right there on MG Road means it is always a bit chaotic outside, but once you get upstairs to Greenpeace India, it settles down a bit. We have a lot of people coming in and out, mostly folks who care about the environment and want to see things change. It is a bit of a maze with all the desks and campaign posters pinned to the walls. We spend a lot of time on the phones or sitting around the big table trying to figure out the next steps for our local projects. The windows let in a good amount of light, which is nice since we are inside for most of the day. There is always a pot of tea going somewhere. We don’t really do the corporate thing here; it’s more about the work and getting people involved in what’s happening with our air and water. Sometimes it feels like we’re swimming against the tide, but that’s just the job. We share the space with a lot of files and old banners from past events. It’s a functional space, nothing too special to look at, but it works for us. Working in the heart of the city has its ups and downs, especially with the parking, but we make it work. It's just a normal office for people trying to do something good.
