Our place at 529 Sadashiva Nagar on 7th Main Road is fairly easy to find once you get past the large trees lining the street. The building is an older construction that stays surprisingly cool even when the sun is out in full force. I spend most of my day sitting at the main desk, dealing with whatever paperwork comes across. Govindaraju K N is the name on the official documents, but around this neighborhood, people just wave as they walk past the gate. The 7th Main is usually quieter than the nearby commercial roads, which helps when I need to concentrate on the ledgers. Sometimes the internet connection acts up when it rains, so we just sit and wait it out. There is a small cupboard in the far corner where we keep the extra stationary and some old records that probably haven't been moved in five years. We do not have a big sign or anything flashy outside to grab attention. The flooring is that old-fashioned mosaic style that you do not see much of in the newer offices. My daily routine is pretty set: arrive early, open the heavy shutters, and check the list of things that need doing. By five o'clock, the traffic outside starts to pick up, and the noise of cars filters into the room. It is a practical space with nothing more than what is needed to run things day to day. (243 words)
