Our office is on the second floor of building 649, which is tucked away on 6th Main, 6th Cross in HAL 3rd Stage. If you know Bangalore, you know how these stages and crosses can be a bit like a maze. We are in a part of the city that has a lot of trees, which is nice when the weather is good. The building itself is an older one and the stairs to the second floor are a bit narrow. Inside, we have our desks arranged in a way that lets us talk to each other without having to get up. It is a busy environment because we are always on the computers. The noise from the main road drifts in through the windows sometimes, but it is not too bad. We have a small area where we keep our bags and coats. Most of us bring lunch from home and eat together at the big table in the middle. The electricity goes out once in a while, but we have a backup system that kicks in after a few seconds. It is a practical place to be and we have been here for a good amount of time. People in the neighborhood are friendly and we often see the same faces every morning at the local bus stop or the tea stall. The office gets a lot of natural light in the morning because of the big windows, but we have to pull the curtains in the afternoon to stop the glare on our screens.
