Ginger Hotels, Root Corporation Limited

You'll find us down in Kerala, in a place called Mayyanad within the Kollam district. The building is known as Devagiri. This part of the country is very different from the big cities, and we like the pace here. Ginger Hotels is part of the Root Corporation, but here on the ground, it’s just us running the daily operations. Kollam has a lot of history and the greenery around Mayyanad is something we see every day from our windows. Our work involves taking care of the rooms and the people who stay with us. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment. We focus on the basics like clean rooms and a functioning kitchen. The weather here can get quite humid, so we spend a lot of time making sure the fans and air conditioning are working as they should. We don't have a lot of flashy signs or loud music. It’s a more subdued atmosphere, which fits the Kerala vibe. People come here when they want to see the backwaters or if they have business in the Kollam area. We talk to the guests, give them directions if they’re lost, and make sure they get their breakfast on time. It’s a straightforward job. We take pride in keeping the place tidy without making a big fuss about it. Being in Devagiri feels like being part of the local community rather than just a business. We hope everyone has a decent stay here whenever they visit us.
