Ggk Systems is down in Madurai, specifically in the Thirumangalam area. The address is 2/84, Thuthi Illam in Maravankulam. It feels more like a house than a big company building, which is fine by us. It’s got that local Madurai feel to it. The street is usually lined with scooters and maybe a few cows wandering around. Thuthi Illam is a nice name for a place, it makes it feel more personal. Inside, we have our computers and all the system hardware we work on. It’s not a very large team, so we all know each other well. We eat lunch together most days, usually something brought from home. The humidity in Madurai can be a lot, so we have the fans going all day long. It makes a constant whirring sound that we’ve all gotten used to. We don’t have a big sign out front, so you have to look for the house number 2/84. People in the neighborhood are friendly and will point you the right way if you get lost. We have been here for a while and have seen the area change a bit, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. It’s an honest place to work. We don’t go in for anything flashy. Just a solid desk, a good connection, and the work in front of us. It’s a quiet life in Maravankulam. The evenings are the best time when it finally starts to cool down and the street lights come on.
