I have been working out of this particular spot on Temple Road for a few years now. Malleshwaram is one of those old-school Bangalore neighborhoods where you still see people walking down to the local market for vegetables every single morning. My workspace is on the 8th Cross, right at house number 5. It is a small, cramped space, mostly filled up with stacks of books and my old computer setup. Being a freelancer means my work schedule is pretty much all over the place. Sometimes I am up at four in the morning trying to finish something, and other times I am just sitting out on the porch watching the scooters and cars go by. The house has that classic Bangalore feel to it, with thick walls and a small garden that I try my best to keep alive. People in the immediate neighborhood know me as the guy who is always sitting at his desk through the window. I do not have a big staff or any kind of fancy professional title. It is just me doing my own thing every day. The internet connection goes out occasionally when it rains particularly hard, which is just a normal part of living in this part of town. I usually walk down the street to get some filter coffee from a small stall. It is a quiet life for the most part, handling my own calls and filing. No one else is here to do it for me.
