Fort Chanwa , Luni

Jodhpur is a dusty place, and out here at Lancer Line, it’s no different. We are based in the M.E.S Colony, specifically at Quarter No 406/3. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate, and the sun really beats down on the pavement by midday. Fort Chanwa in Luni is a name people know, but our daily reality is this office in the colony. It’s a very functional space. The walls are that standard government-style paint, and we have heaps of files stacked up on the wooden desks. Living and working in Rajasthan means you get used to the sand getting into everything. We spend a good chunk of our morning just dusting things off before we can even start. It’s not a fancy setup at all. We have some old chairs that creak when you sit down and a clock that’s always five minutes slow. People come by to ask questions or drop off papers, and we just handle it as it comes. There isn't a big team here, just a few of us who have been around for a long time. We know the neighbors and the local shops where we get our tea. It’s a slow pace of life compared to the big cities, and we like it that way. We just keep the records straight and make sure the place stays open during the posted hours. It’s simple work in a hot, dry place where everyone knows everyone else.
