We are located at No.156 in Chikka Bazar, which is part of the Shivaji Nagar area. If you know the neighborhood, you know Chikka Bazar is always buzzing with people looking for deals. We’ve been in this shop for a long time. It’s a crowded area with lots of small storefronts all squeezed together. We mostly deal with footwear, so there are boxes stacked up to the ceiling in almost every corner. It can be a bit of a maze inside. The air is always full of the sounds of the market—people haggling, bells from the nearby temples, and the sound of traffic from the main road. We don't have air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that we keep running all day. It gets pretty warm in the afternoons. We see all kinds of people coming through our doors. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to this market for years. We know the other shopkeepers around here well. Sometimes we share a tea or help each other out when things get busy. It’s a traditional way of doing business, mostly face-to-face. We don’t have a website or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to come in. It’s a simple life, and it keeps us busy from morning till night. Most days we are just moving stock around and trying to find the right sizes for everyone.
