Working out here at 4 Whitefield, we’ve seen the whole area change over the years. We are Flowserve, and our focus is on control systems and industrial equipment. The facility is a bit of a mix between an office and a workshop. You’ll see people in shirts and others in work clothes depending on what part of the building you are in. We handle valves and pumps and all the technical stuff that keeps plants running. It’s very precise work, but the atmosphere here is pretty relaxed. We aren't the type to wear suits and ties unless someone important is coming by. Mostly, we just focus on the drawings and the machinery. Whitefield is a bit of a trek for some of us, but we’re used to the commute by now. The air is a bit different out here compared to the city center. We have a lot of heavy parts coming in and out, so there’s always a forklift moving somewhere in the back. The desks are usually covered in technical manuals and half-empty coffee cups. It’s a busy place, but we take the time to get the measurements right. It’s the kind of job where you go home feeling like you actually built something or fixed a real problem. We’ve been part of this industrial patch for a while and just keep doing our thing every day to keep things moving for the factories we work with.
