Our address is a bit confusing to explain to delivery drivers. We are at 402/1/1 on the 4th floor, but also on the 22nd Cross and 25th B Main in HSR Layout. Some of our paperwork even mentions the second floor. It’s one of those Bangalore buildings that has grown over time. Firmroots Pvt Ltd is based here, and we’ve gotten used to the maze of HSR Layout by now. The traffic on the main road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we often stay a bit later to let it clear out. The office itself is pretty simple. We have some desks, a few computers, and a lot of notebooks scattered around. It’s a lived-in space, not a showroom. We don’t have a receptionist; usually, whoever is closest to the door just opens it. We drink a lot of coffee here to stay awake during the afternoon slump. Most of the people working here are young and live in the nearby PG houses or apartments. We talk about local food spots and which roads to avoid during the rains. It’s a busy atmosphere but not stressful in a corporate way. We just have a lot to do and we get on with it together. The stairs are narrow, so we have to be careful when moving furniture or big boxes. It’s our little corner of the city where we try to keep things organized.
