You have to drive out toward Dommasandra to find us. Exotic Agro is located at Survey Number 24 in Chikkavadayarpura. It’s a bit of a trek if you’re coming from the middle of the city, but the air is a lot better out here. We’ve got some land and some structures where we keep our plants and products. It’s not a polished office. There’s mud on the floor when it rains and the sun is pretty harsh in the afternoons. We spend more time outside than inside. Ganjur Post is the local landmark everyone uses to find the turn-off. We started this because we liked the idea of growing things that weren't common around here. It turned into a full-time job for a bunch of us. Some days are just about weeding and checking water lines. Other days we’re loading up trucks for deliveries to Anekal Taluk or further out. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy brochures. We just know what grows well and what doesn’t. Sometimes a crop fails and we have to start over. It’s frustrating, but that’s the nature of working with the earth. The workers here have been with us for a long time. We know each other’s families and share tea under the shade of the big trees. It’s a quiet life, mostly, until harvest time comes around and everything gets chaotic for a few weeks.
