Estimating & Costing Engineer

We are located at C/O Shylaja.L. on 10th Cross in Prashanth Nagar, Vijaya Nagar, Bangalore. It’s more of a residential spot than a commercial one, so it’s usually pretty calm around here, aside from the usual Bangalore traffic on the main roads. As an Estimating & Costing Engineer, the work involves a lot of looking at plans and figuring out exactly how much things are going to cost before they get built. It’s a lot of spreadsheets and calculations. The office is basically a room with good light, a sturdy desk, and a lot of reference books. Working from Shylaja’s place means things are informal and relaxed. We don't have a receptionist or a big lobby. People usually just call ahead and then stop by to drop off their drawings. Sometimes we sit on the veranda and talk about the project over a cup of coffee. It’s a very personal way of doing business. We don’t have a big corporate structure or a list of company values. We just try to get the numbers right so there aren't any surprises later on during the construction. The 10th Cross is a nice street with some trees, and we like the pace of life here. It’s a quiet way to work, focusing on the details of construction and costs without all the noise of a big downtown office. We just stay busy with the math.
