We are located at No. 27 Dickenson Road. It’s an old building with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a climb. Inside, the place is filled with the hum of sewing machines and the sound of heavy iron steam. There are rolls of fabric stacked up against the walls and thread clippings on the floor no matter how often we sweep. We spend most of our time looking at patterns and trying to get the stitching just right on a sleeve or a collar. It’s a lot of manual work. The light coming through the windows in the afternoon is good for picking out colors. We don't have a big fancy reception area. Usually, you’ll just see someone hunched over a cutting table with a pair of shears. The staff has been here for years, and we know each other's habits pretty well. We drink a lot of tea while we work. Sometimes things get stressful when a deadline is close, but we usually just put our heads down and get on with it. Dickenson Road is a busy place, and we can hear the buses going by all day long. It’s a bit dusty, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s where we do our work. We focus on the clothes and the fit rather than how the office looks. The phone rings a lot, and someone usually yells across the room to answer it.
