You have to go up to the second floor on D K Lane to find us. Deepchand Nahar Agency is right there at Chickpet Cross 29. If you’ve ever been to Chickpet, you know how crowded the lanes get. It’s a maze down there, but once you get up to our floor, it’s a bit quieter. We’ve been in this building for a long time. It’s one of those old places where the stairs are narrow and you have to be careful not to bump into people coming down. We mainly act as an agency for various goods. Our office is full of ledgers and sample books. It’s not fancy at all. We have a couple of desks, some old wooden chairs, and a clock that’s always five minutes fast. We don't really have a big staff, just a few people who know the business inside and out. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to traders who stop by. It’s a tight-knit community in this part of town. Everyone knows everyone’s business, which is just how it is. We aren't interested in being the biggest agency around. We just want to do right by the people we work with and keep things running smoothly. It’s a lot of routine, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes we stay late to finish up paperwork, but that's just part of the job in a place like this.
