If you find yourself on Old Madras Road in Indira Nagar, you might see our place at number 48. It’s a busy road, so there’s always the sound of horns and engines outside. We’ve been running this travel desk for quite a while. It’s basically just a room with some desks, a few computers, and a lot of notebooks. We don't have any fancy decorations because we spend all our time looking at screens and talking to airlines. People often stop by on their way home from work to check on prices. We try to be helpful, even if they aren't ready to buy a ticket yet. Sometimes we have to deal with power cuts, which makes things interesting when we are in the middle of a booking. We just light a candle and wait for the generator to kick in. It’s not a perfect office, but it’s ours. We know most of the shopkeepers nearby, so there is a nice community feel despite the busy road. We don't do any big promotions. We just wait for people to walk through the door or give us a call. It’s a basic way of doing business, but it has served us well for years. We keep a stash of old newspapers for people to read while they wait for their tickets to print.
