Our place, Deccan Structural Systems Pvt. Ltd., is right at 42, V Mile on Tumkur Road in Yeshvanthpur. If you know that stretch of road, you know how busy the traffic gets with all the trucks. We deal with structural systems, which basically means we work on the frames and supports for buildings. It is heavy work and takes a lot of space, so being out here on Tumkur Road works well for us. The yard is usually filled with steel beams and various components waiting to be loaded. We are not the type to have a polished office with leather chairs. We have a small desk tucked in the corner where the paperwork happens. The real action is outside where the welding and assembly go on. We have seen Yeshvanthpur change a lot over the years, but we have stayed pretty much the same. We have a crew that knows their stuff and does not need much supervision. We just get the blueprints, find the right steel, and start cutting and joining. It is a practical business for people who need things to stay standing. We do not make any big promises, we just do the fabrication and make sure it is ready when the client needs it. It is hard work, but it is what we know how to do best in this part of town.
