Deccan Airlines

We have been operating out of New Pottery Town for a while now. The office is right here on 4th Cross. People in Bangalore know this area well, it has its own character with the old buildings and narrow streets. Dealing with airplanes and travel isn't always easy, but we just get on with it every day. It’s a busy place. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing and other times it's quiet enough to actually hear the birds outside. We handle a lot of the logistical side of things for Deccan Airlines. Most of us have been working in this part of Karnataka for years. You find that you get to know the regulars who pass by the office. It’s not a fancy glass building or anything like that. Just a regular workspace where we try to keep things moving. There is usually a bit of tea going around in the afternoons, especially when it rains, which happens a lot in Bangalore. Working in aviation means you're always looking at schedules and worrying about timing. We spend a lot of time on computers and talking to people about where they need to go. It’s practical work. We don't really go for big speeches about what we do. It’s just about making sure the planes have what they need and the paperwork is sorted. If you walk down 4th Cross, you'll see our sign. It's nothing too loud. Bangalore is growing so fast, but this little corner feels like home.
