We’ve been here at Brigade Gardens on Church Street for a long time now. If you walk up to the first floor at number 37, you’ll find us tucked away. It’s pretty quiet inside compared to the noise outside on the street. Most people who come in are regulars who have been visiting for years. We do Japanese food, just the way we’ve always done it. It’s not a very big place, just a few tables and a small kitchen. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when it’s busy, especially on weekend evenings when Church Street is packed with people. We try to keep things simple. There isn’t much fancy decor or loud music here. The chairs are wooden and the lighting is just normal. Most of our staff have been around since the beginning, so we know how things run. It’s a bit hard to find if you aren’t looking for the sign, but once you’re inside, it feels different from the rest of Bangalore. We spend most of our mornings getting the fish and vegetables ready. Everything is handled carefully. We don't really do much advertising. People usually just hear about us from their friends or family. It’s just a small spot for a meal without too much fuss. We open for lunch and then again for dinner. If you’re around 560001, you can just walk in and see if there’s a seat. We hope you find the atmosphere relaxing after the walk up.
