Our office, D S Mani & Co Chartered Accountants, is situated right near the Banaswadi Railway Station, just opposite to it. We are in the same building as the New India School in the Bhusari Colony area on Poud Road. It’s a convenient spot because we can see the trains coming and going. The atmosphere here is usually quite focused. Being chartered accountants means we have seasons where we are buried under tax forms and audit reports. Our desks are usually covered in calculators and pens. It’s a bit of a climb to get to us depending on which way you come, but people find us easily enough. We’ve been at this location for a while now. The staff knows exactly where every file is kept, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. We try to keep things simple. No one here wears a suit unless it’s absolutely necessary for a meeting. We prefer being comfortable while we crunch numbers. The school nearby adds a lot of noise during the day, which keeps the energy up. It’s nice to be in a place where there’s so much activity. We just handle the books and make sure everything adds up. It's what we do. The coffee machine is usually running by eight in the morning and doesn't stop until we leave.
