We have been operating out of Malleshwaram 20 for quite some time now. It’s a familiar spot for us, tucked away where the neighborhood feels lived-in. Our daily routine usually starts with opening up the shutters and getting the coffee pot going before the sun gets too high. There are drafting tables scattered around the main room and they’re usually covered in rolls of tracing paper and pencils that need sharpening. We aren't a big flashy firm with a glass lobby. It’s just a handful of us here who like to draw and figure out how buildings should stand up. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other days it’s just the sound of someone humming while they work on a floor plan. We spend a lot of time arguing over where a window should go or why a certain wall doesn’t look right on paper. Visitors usually find us by the old sign out front that’s faded a bit over the years. We’ve seen the street change quite a bit, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. It’s a lot of hard work and sometimes we stay late when a deadline is breathing down our necks, but that’s just how it goes in this business. We don't have fancy titles or a dress code, mostly just jeans and comfortable shoes for when we have to go out and look at dirt piles on a site.
