Our office is called 'Surabi' and you can find us at No.150 on the 2nd Cross in Bhuvaneswari Nagar. We are in the Hebbal Post area of Bangalore, Karnataka. Being in the book business means our space is usually full of boxes and the smell of paper. It is a bit of a maze inside sometimes because we have so many different titles and shipments coming in and out. We spend a lot of time packing orders and checking off lists. It is physically demanding work, especially when a big delivery arrives and we have to move everything by hand. The neighborhood is okay, a bit dusty like most parts of Bangalore these days with all the construction going on. We have been here for a good amount of time, so we know the local delivery drivers and the guys at the tea stall nearby. We are not a fancy bookstore with soft chairs; we are more of a hub where the actual logistics of getting books to people happen. Every day is a bit different depending on what orders come in. We just keep our heads down and try to make sure every book goes to the right place. It is a simple business, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We like the rhythm of it, even if our backs ache a bit at the end of the shift.
