Out here in Mahadevapura, inside the ITI Ancillary Industrial Estate, you will find us at unit B-6. We have been operating Csaid (India) from this same spot for a lot of years. The whole neighborhood has changed quite a bit with all the new high-rise buildings going up around the estate, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. It is an industrial area, so there is always the constant sound of metal hitting metal or truck engines idling outside the gate. We do a lot of small-scale manufacturing and supplying parts. Our desks are usually piled high with old blueprints and stacks of invoices that need sorting. There is no big corporate hierarchy here at all. If something needs to be fixed or moved, whoever is closest just grabs a tool and does it. We have a small crew and we all know each other’s families by now. We usually eat our lunch together in the small open space behind the main work floor. The floor is made of concrete and has some cracks here and there, but it holds up the heavy machinery just fine. We don’t spend our money on fancy brochures or hiring sales people to go out and talk to strangers. If you need something, you usually just call the landline or walk through the front door and ask. We try to stay organized, but it can get a bit chaotic in the warehouse. We just take it one day at a time.
