Peenya 2nd Stage is always loud. You’ve got the 11th Cross in the Doddanna Industrial Area which is just full of metal shops and small factories. At Creative Engineers, we sit right at 112/1 and listen to the machines humming all day. We do a lot of lathe work and some custom parts when someone brings in a drawing. It’s messy work. There are metal shavings everywhere, and you have to be careful where you step. Most of the machines we use have been here since we started, and they’ve got their own quirks. You have to kick the one drill press just right to get it going. It gets pretty cramped inside when we have a big order of components to finish. Usually, we're just focused on hitting the measurements right. If it’s off by a millimeter, the whole thing is junk, so we spend a lot of time double-checking. The air always smells like cutting oil and old metal. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp, especially during the night shifts when things are quiet outside but the shop is still running. Our neighbors are mostly other workshops, so we trade tools back and forth if someone is missing a specific wrench size. It’s just how it goes here in the industrial block. We don’t have a front office, just a desk with too many papers on it and a couple of plastic stools.
