Country Club (I) Ltd

Our place is at 328/A in the Soumya Sadana building. It’s a bit funny because the address gets written twice sometimes on the envelopes we get in the mail. We are on the 9th floor, which gives us a bit of a view of the rooftops around us if you look out the small window. It’s a tall building and the lift is sometimes slow or out of order, so you have to be patient when you come to see us. We have a few rooms here where we sit and talk to the people who come in. It’s not very decorated. We have some calendars on the wall and a few plastic chairs that have seen better days. It’s a club, but it feels more like an office most of the time. People come in to ask about their memberships or to see what’s going on for the weekend. We don’t have a big neon sign out front, just the number on the door. The staff here is just a few of us who have known each other a long time. We drink a lot of tea and talk about the cricket or the weather while we wait for the phone to ring. It’s a steady job and we like the people who visit. Sometimes the 9th floor gets a bit windy if the windows are open, but it’s better than the heat on the street level. We don’t have any grand plans to change things. We just want to keep the place running.
