Computer Operator Cum Material Processor

I work over at Bharath Silks on the first floor. The place is run by Narashimaha Raju Gowda and it’s located at 7/1 K H Road in Bangalore. My role is computer operator cum material processor. It sounds like a lot, but basically, I handle the computer stuff and help with the materials too. Since it’s a silk place, there’s always fabric around and the smell of textiles. K H Road is a very busy part of the city, so there is constant noise from the traffic downstairs. Being on the first floor helps a bit, but you still feel the bustle of Bangalore 560 027. I spend a lot of time at my desk but I also move around to check on the embroidery and silk processing. It’s a bit dusty because of the threads and the materials, but we get used to it. I’ve been here for a while now, just doing the daily routine. We don’t have any fancy marketing people; we just do our work and handle the orders. Some days are really packed with work and I barely look up from the screen or the fabric piles. It’s a practical job for someone who knows both the digital side and the physical material. That’s what a typical day looks like here at Bharath Silks.
