We are over in the Madiwala area of Bangalore, based out of Hotel The Libra. Shyni Varkey and Josmy Joy are part of the team here. Madiwala is one of those places that never really sleeps because of the bus stands and all the people traveling through. Our work involves managing the rooms and making sure guests have what they need when they arrive. It’s a busy environment with people checking in at odd hours. The building isn't a luxury palace, but it serves the purpose for anyone needing a place to stay in this part of town. We deal with a lot of laundry, keys, and phone calls every day. Sometimes the traffic outside is so bad that guests arrive late, and we have to stay on our toes. The staff just wears regular clothes and we talk to guests like neighbors. There are no corporate scripts or formal greetings here. We just show people to their rooms and help with their bags. Bangalore is a fast-growing city, and Madiwala is right in the middle of the action. Working in a hotel means you never know who will walk through the door next. We keep the rooms ready and the hallways swept. It’s just about providing a bed and a roof for the night. We don't make big promises, we just do the work that needs doing.
