Chinnappa Associatescharted Accountant is over at No 15 on 4th Main in Ganganagar Extension. We are in Bangalore 32. It’s a typical Bangalore street with some trees and a lot of scooters parked around. Our office is a straightforward place. We have some shelves with big tax books and a lot of folders. Accounting isn't always the most exciting thing, but it’s what we do here every day. We don't have a lobby with a coffee machine. If you want water, we just have a filter in the corner. People come in with their papers in plastic bags or folders, and we sit down and go through them. It’s very casual. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty because the windows stay open for the breeze. We’ve known some of our clients for decades. They aren't just names on a ledger to us. We’ve seen their families grow up. We don't use any fancy software that promises to change your life. We just use what works to get the numbers right. The power goes out sometimes, like it does in many parts of the city, so we just wait for the generator or take a break. It's a small team, mostly people who have lived in Bangalore for a long time. We don't pretend to be a big corporate firm. We are just here on 4th Main doing the work.
