Silk Museum

Chickpet is a place where you can easily get lost if you don't know the lanes. We are tucked away in E. S. Lane at number 722. It is a narrow street and when a cart comes through, everyone has to press against the walls to let it pass. Our place has been here for years, and not much has changed inside. The shelves are full and the floor is usually covered with scraps or packing material. It’s a bit cramped, especially when we get a new shipment in. We don't have air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that rattle when they are on high. You can hear the bustle of the market from inside all day long. Most people who come here have been coming for a long time, so they know exactly where to find us. We don't do much in the way of advertising or marketing. Usually, someone just tells a friend where we are. It is a very old-school way of running things. The stairs up to our floor are narrow and a bit dark, but once you’re inside, it’s just a regular workspace. We drink a lot of coffee from the guy who walks around with a flask twice a day. It keeps us going through the afternoon slump. It’s a busy, messy, and honest way to make a living in the heart of the city, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
