Casio Gift Palace

If you go down to the 4th Phase in Banashankri, specifically around 10th Main and 6th Cross, you’ll find Casio Gift Palace. It’s tucked away in a spot that feels more like a neighborhood than a big commercial hub. We’ve been here for quite some time, and the shop is filled with all kinds of things people like to give as presents. We have clocks on the walls that all tick at slightly different times, which can be a bit funny if you listen closely for a minute. There are watches in the glass counters and a bunch of other small items that we’ve collected over the months. The space is a little narrow, so you have to be careful not to knock anything over when you’re moving around. We don’t have any fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just shelves and boxes everywhere. The lighting is a bit dim in the back corner where we keep the extra stock. Most of the people who come in are locals who live just a few streets away in Jeevanahalli. They know us by name, and we know what they usually look for when they come in. We spend a lot of time cleaning the glass and making sure the batteries in the display watches are still running. It’s a quiet life in this part of Banashankri. We open the shutters in the morning and wait to see who stops by. It’s a simple way to spend the day.
