Our office is over in Whitefield at the Kaul Residence, 4&5, on the 1st Cross of ECC Road. If you live in Bangalore, you know Whitefield is a world of its own with all the tech parks and the traffic that never seems to stop. We are in the Shankarapa Layout area. Carlson Hospitality Marketing handles the side of the hotel business that people don't usually see when they are staying in a room. We look at how to get people to visit and how to keep them coming back. It involves a lot of data and looking at what other places are doing. It's not all glamorous; there are plenty of spreadsheets and long meetings involved. The office is in a residential-style building, which makes it feel a bit more relaxed than a cold glass tower. We have a small team here. Sometimes we go out to the hotels we work with, but most of the time we are right here in Whitefield. We try to keep things grounded. Marketing can sound like a lot of big words, but for us, it’s just about telling the truth about a place and making sure the right people hear it. We deal with the ups and downs of the travel industry every day. When the monsoon hits, the roads here get messy, but we still make it in to get the work done. There's always someone making tea in the kitchen to keep us going.
