Camellia Clothing Ltd.

We've been at this spot in Kavalbyrasandra for a while now. It’s a busy area, and our place at 404 5 is where all the work happens. People often ask how we started, but there isn't some big story. We just needed a way to work with clothes and this space was available. Some days the machines are loud and the floor is covered in scraps of fabric, but that’s just how it goes when you’re actually making things. It’s not a fancy office. We have chairs that don’t match and the tea guy comes by twice a day. The neighborhood knows us as Camellia Clothing Ltd., though most just call us by the building number. We handle a lot of different orders. Sometimes it’s a lot of one thing, other times it’s small batches that take more time. My cousin helps with the cutting and we have a few others who have been here since the start. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually keep the big door open to get some air from the street. We don’t have a website that works well or anything like that. If you need to find us, you just come down to the address. It’s easier to talk face to face anyway. We try to get the stitching right the first time so we don’t have to do it twice. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
