Cambay Spa & Golf Resort

We are situated out in Bangalore, though a bit away from the main city crush. It’s a big property, so there’s always something that needs fixing or mowing. Working here is different from an office job because you spend so much time walking around the grounds. We have the golf area and the spa parts, and they both keep us pretty busy in different ways. Some days it’s quiet and you can just hear the birds, other days we have big groups and it’s a bit of a mess trying to get everyone settled. The buildings are spread out, so we do a lot of running back and forth. It’s a lot of work to keep the grass green and the rooms ready, especially with the Bangalore weather being what it is. We aren't really corporate types here; most of the staff are just local people who know how to handle the daily chores. Sometimes the equipment breaks down or the water pressure acts up, and we just have to scramble to fix it before anyone notices. It’s a beautiful place, but it takes a lot of sweat to keep it that way. We don't have a fancy mission statement or anything. We just show up, do the work, and try to make sure the place stays in one piece for the next day. It’s a lot of physical labor, but seeing the place look good is worth it.
