C. Mariappa & Sons

You can find us at Shop Number 141 on Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar. We’ve been running C. Mariappa & Sons from this same location for many years. It started small and it’s still a relatively humble setup. The street out front is always busy with traffic, which keeps us on our toes. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us since the beginning. The shop is full of various items we've gathered over time. It’s a bit of a family affair here; everyone chips in when things get busy. We don’t have a website or any of that modern stuff. We prefer talking to people face to face. Sometimes we’re a bit slow to answer the phone if we’re in the middle of counting stock. The shelves are packed and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer is looking for. We spend a lot of time cleaning up the dust that blows in from the main road. It's just a regular local shop where we try to provide what people need. Rajajinagar has changed a lot, but we’ve stayed pretty much the same. If you’re walking down Dr Rajkumar Road, you can’t miss the shop front. We’re usually there from the morning until the shutters go down at night. It is a bit of a squeeze inside, but we make it work.
