Budget Rent A Car is based right here in the middle of Bangalore. We don’t have one of those massive office blocks; we’re more of a hands-on operation spread across the city. Most of our work involves keeping track of where our cars are and making sure they’re ready for the next person. Bangalore traffic is legendary, so we spend a lot of time talking about routes and how to avoid the worst of the jams. It’s not always easy keeping a fleet of cars in good shape with the way some people drive, but we do our best. We’ve got a small crew that handles the keys and the paperwork. It’s a lot of checking oil, washing windows, and making sure the air conditioning actually works before a car goes out. We aren't some big faceless corporation. We’re just local people who know these roads and want to help others get around. Sometimes we run out of a certain type of car and have to figure something else out on the fly. It can be a bit chaotic during the holidays or when there’s a big convention in town. We’ve seen the city grow so much, and the demand for cars just keeps going up. We just keep our heads down and try to stay organized. It’s a simple business, really. We give you a car, you drive it, and you bring it back. That’s how we’ve always done it. It is hard work but we are used to the noise.
