Brookefield Technologies is located at Somiya Manoh Chowk, specifically at E 1381. Being right near the chowk means we hear the sounds of the city all day long. It’s a practical location for us. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of computers and a bunch of cables that we’re always trying to keep from getting tangled. The team usually arrives in shifts, so there’s always someone around. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some whiteboards with scribbles and a few old chairs that have seen better days. It’s the kind of place where people keep their own snacks in their desk drawers and have their favorite mugs. We do a lot of technical work, so most of the time you just hear the clicking of keyboards and the hum of the cooling fans. Lunch is usually a group effort where we figure out who is going to pick up food from the stalls nearby. The light in the office at E 1381 is actually pretty good in the mornings, which makes it easier to get started. We’ve been here long enough that the postman knows exactly where to leave the packages even if the gate is shut. It’s a simple setup for a tech company, focusing more on the work than on how the office looks to outsiders. Sometimes we stay late to finish up a project, and the chowk gets quiet.
