Our workplace is at number 18/19 on Chiknahalli Road, specifically the 2nd cross in Bommnahalli. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always the sound of machines or trucks nearby. We work with fabrics and knitting here. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We have several rows of machines and tables where we sort through the materials. It’s not the quietest place to spend a day, but we like the rhythm of it. Most of us have been working together for a while, so we don't need to say much to get things done. We eat our lunch together in the small break area near the back. The lighting is those long fluorescent tubes that flicker a bit sometimes. We don’t have fancy decorations on the walls, just some calendars and safety notices. Being in Bommnahalli means we are close to other businesses like ours. We see the same delivery drivers every week. At Unique Knitfab India Pvt. Ltd., we focus on getting the orders out on time. Sometimes the piles of fabric get so high you can't see the other side of the room. We just keep at it until the job is done. It’s plain work, but it suits us fine. There’s always a bit of lint in the air from the knitting process, and we usually end the day with thread stuck to our clothes. It's just part of the job.
