Our spot at 103 Sakalavara Bora Layout is more like a warehouse than anything else. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but there’s more space for the crates. We spend most of the morning checking the manifests and making sure the labels are stuck on right. It gets hot under the tin roof in the afternoon, so we usually take a break around two. There are piles of packing material everywhere, mostly bubble wrap and brown tape. We have a lot of stuff coming in and going out, and sometimes the trucks have a hard time turning around in the lane. The floor is concrete and stays cool for a bit in the morning. We don’t really have customers walking in, it’s mostly just drivers and guys helping with the loading. It’s hard work on the back, lifting things all day. We keep a big jug of water by the door because you get thirsty quick. The Bora Layout area is still developing, so there’s some construction noise nearby most of the time. We just try to keep things moving so nothing sits on the floor for too long. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to wait to send the emails, which is annoying. It’s a basic operation but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. We finish up around six and lock the big gates. Then it’s just the night watchman and the local stray dogs left in the layout until the next morning.
