If you find yourself in BTM Layout 2nd Stage, you might pass by Bharat Fashions And Apparels. We’re on the ground floor of number 557, right on the 11th Cross. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, lots of students and shops around. Our space is pretty straightforward. We have the machines and the tables set up for the daily tasks. It’s not a showroom, so it’s not all shiny. It’s a workspace through and through. You can hear the sounds of the street coming in through the door. We’ve got a small team here. Most of us have been around since the start. We don’t use a lot of big words or have complicated rules. We just come in, do the sewing or the packing, and go home. The 2nd Main is always crowded with scooters. We usually grab a quick snack from the stalls nearby. It feels like a real part of the community. We don’t have a website that looks like a magazine. We just have our address and our work. The light in the office is a bit dim in the corners, but we have lamps where they’re needed. It’s just a practical place to be. We don’t try to act like a big company. We’re just local people making things happen. It is what it is, and we like the routine we have. It works for us.
